Kinbasket Lake

An outstanding close-up view of Canoe Mountainand the valley beyond surrounds you as you plunge into the cool waters of Kinbasket Lake. The lake is a man-made reservoir, created in 1973 as a result of the Mica Dam in Revelstoke.

Take Highway 5 south from the village, and turn left onto the East Canoe Service Road. Stay on this road until it becomes a gravel road, and you will eventually see Kinbasket Lake on your right. Follow it until you reach "Km 10" and turn right onto a side road that leads to the lake. This is the site of an old mill, where you can park. Many of the local residents prefer to walk along the rocky shore to a sandy spot a little further along the lake.

If you're feeling adventurous, continue driving along the road until you find your own special spot by the lake. There are 3 managed campsites as well as our local marina at "Km 21".
