Warm Weather Wonders

Let's Go Swimming!

Kinbasket Lake

An outstanding close-up view of Canoe Mountainand the valley beyond surrounds you as you plunge into the cool waters of Kinbasket Lake.  The lake is a man-made reservoir, created in 1973 as a result of the Mica Dam in Revelstoke.

Take Highway 5 south from the village, and turn left onto the East Canoe Service Road.  Stay on this road until it becomes a gravel road, and you will eventually see Kinbasket Lake on your right.  Follow it until you reach "Km 10" and turn right onto a side road that leads to the lake.  This is the site of an old mill, where you can park.  Many of the local residents prefer to walk along the rocky shore to a sandy spot a little further along the lake.

If you're feeling adventurous, continue driving along the road until you find your own special spot by the lake.  There are 3 managed campsites as well as our local marina at "Km 21".

Cedarside Regional Park

Visit a sandy beach, stretch out in the sunshine, and take a dip in Little Cranberry Lake.  The park is located 3 km. south of the village on Highway 5, and has a large parking area, toilets, picnic tables and fire pits.

Little Lost Lake

Go for a splash or bring your floatie, and cool off at Little Lost Lake.  With picnic tables and great trails surrounding the lake, your day will be filled with fond family memories.

Let's Go Boating!

Kinbasket Lake

Follow the East Canoe Forest Service Road until you reach "Km 21", and you will find the Valemount Marina, where you can launch your boat and spend the day cruising around this beautiful lake.  There are also campsites nearby if you decide to stay a while.

Moose Lake

Located in Mount Robson Provincial Park, Moose Lake has a great boat launch located on Highway 16.  Moose Lake is great for exploring, especially in a canoe.  But please be aware of strong winds and sudden changes in weather conditions.

Yellowhead Lake

Mount Robson Provincial Park is also home to Yellowhead Lake, where you can launch your boat and exlplore the waters all day.  Please be aware of strong winds and sudden changes in weather conditions.

Let's Go Golfing!

Valemount Pines Golf Course

The views are worth millions, but the green fees aren't!  Valemount Pines Golf Course is a superb 9 hole, par 3 golf course that is great for all members of the family.  It's interesting enough to challenge the avid golfer, yet relaxing enough to keep beginner golfers at ease.
