Horse-Assisted Hiking

If you would like to hike into the backcountry, but would prefer to let a four-legged friend carry your load, Headwaters Outfitting can arrange for their horses to pack gear for you so you can hike in with a small pack.   Contact them for details and specific location.

Visit a Horse Ranch

Whether you are missing your own horse and need to get a nose-ful, or perhaps you just want to watch a natural horsemanship clinic, the ranches in the Valemount area are always happy to oblige when they can.  Horses are unpredictable creatures, so it's always best to call ahead if you'd like to plan a visit.

Back Country Horsemen of BC Robson Valley Chapter

The goals of the non-profit horse club are the improvement of access to both the front country and back country areas of the Robson Valley, as well as exploration and re-opening of some of the historic pack trails, including advocating for improvement of trail access and involvement in such activities as improving trail heads and staging areas, GPSing and mapping of existing trails so they are officially recognized, building new trails, and maintaining and preserving existing trails for day rides and back country excursions. Canoe Mountain Rodeo and Bull-a-Rama

July 8, 9, 10, 2011- The BC Rodeo Association and Canoe Mountain Rodeo Association presents the Annual Canoe Mountain Rodeo.  With entries from all over BC and Alberta, from bull riding and broncs to barrel racing and pole bending, you are sure to be thrilled with this fabulous 3-day event.   Includes vendors, evening dances and beer garden.  Held next door to the Canoe River Campground.  Check out our events calendar for next year's dates.

Valemount Saddle and Wagon Club
